HOW TO LIVE YOUR DEATH AND TOWARDS WHAT AFTERLIFE?
Edith BÉLANGER, MA et Fabrice BLÉE, PhD April-May 2023 - In French
DESCRIPTION
Behind all fear, there is that of death which must be faced sooner or later. This seminar wants to help us approach it in a healthy way in the light of end-of-life care, a humanistic approach and mystical traditions, mainly Christianity and Buddhism. We will ask ourselves six major questions:
Session 1
1. What is the place of death in an increasingly transhumanist society that dreams of immortality and eternal youth, and how can we talk about it?
2. What does the experience of end-of-life care tell us about the fears and hopes of the people concerned?
Session 2
3. What do near-death experiences (NDEs) tell us about death and the afterlife so that we can better live in the present moment?
4. What do humanistic, Christian and Buddhist spiritualities, among others, teach us about death and the hereafter in order to find peace here below?
Session 3
5. What are the stages in accepting death and how to prepare for it? 6. What are the conditions for becoming a ferryman, facilitating the transition from an awareness of life here below to the last breath, and what types of companiments are appropriate to help a person undertake the great journey?

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
● Edith Bélanger, MA
Intervener in spiritual care with people at the end of life and the bereaved, she holds a master's degree in Theology in the field of Spirituality and a Diploma of higher studies in spiritual intervention. She defended a master's thesis on passivity in the spiritual life, drawing inspiration, in particular, from Christian mysticism.
His proximity to the end of life leads him to further explore the issues of fragility in human existence and letting go in the light of the humanist approach.
● Fabrice Blée, PhD
Fabrice is an associate professor of theology. He offers this training following his work on death and the afterlife in Christianity and Tibetan Buddhism. He published a memoir on death in the theology of Karl Rahner and the teaching of Bokar Rimpoche (University of Montreal) and became interested very early in near-death experiences (EMI).He considers it important today to reconsider death in terms of a transcendence to be incarnated on a daily basis, and this, at a time when the human being is threatened from all sides, left to himself, without real understanding of his place inthis universe.
The price for the entire seminar is 295 can$ or 225 €/US$.
